A Deeper Well.
Dear Church Family,
“Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.” John 4:14
Being a part of our church means your cup is never empty. We have all put in hard work through our financial commitments, time and talents to dig a deep well for FPC that never dries and is a comfort and support to our members and community.
While we have been preparing for our first year as stewardship co-chairs we have taken time to reflect on the deep well of First Presbyterian Church Covington. Our family has been supported through FPC in so many ways. We have been lifted up through the ministries of the volunteers and nursery workers that have saved us from becoming a public spectacle when our children decide to throw tantrums during the sermon. We have been comforted with the sheer volume of FPC members who supported us through grief – the funeral, the casseroles left at our front door, the grief books sent to us in the mail, and the assurances that this too would pass. Truly, the depth of this FPC well is astonishing.
While our church creates this deep well, remember the water is Christ’s, given for us that we may never thirst. So this year we are asking you to dig deep, but also to draw often, and drink freely. As we approach stewardship season, we ask that you think and pray about what you expect to be able to give financially and through your time and talents to the church in 2025.
Linked below you’ll find a pledge card and our Time & Talent survey and copies are also available in the Narthex, at fpccov.org/stewardship and in the e-news. We ask you return them by Commitment Sunday on November 10th by placing them in the offering plate during worship, mailing or bringing them to the office, or emailing them to peni@fpccov.org.
We fully understand that financial promises are often just guesses right now, and you are always free to adjust your pledge at any time if you find your circumstances change. However, having an estimate of what we expect our financial resources to be allows us to create a responsible and reasonable budget and an action plan for our ministries in 2025.
Help us continue to create the deep well of First Presbyterian Church Covington as a place where all find rest, comfort, and love.
Faithfully,
Tom & Erin Stillerman
