How can I join the church?

  • Just say YES to becoming an active member in the life and ministry of FPC! In the Presbyterian Church there are a variety of ways to join:

  • Profession of Faith

This is when you say YES to trusting in God’s grace in Jesus Christ and desire to become part of the fellowship and ministry of the Church! If you are not baptized, we shall participate in the sacrament of Baptism!

  • Transfer of Letter

If you are already a member of another Christian Church, you can join FPC Covington by the Session (our fancy word for local governing body) requesting a letter of transfer from your previous congregation.

  • Reaffirmation of Faith

Recognizing you have already been baptized (We believe in ONE baptism – in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) you can join the church by reaffirming your trust in our Lord, Jesus Christ and your desire to actively participate in the life of the church!

  • What if I'm not ready to become an official member?

...and NO, you don’t have to join to be a part of our church family! We welcome seekers, searchers, sinners, and saints...member or not!

  • What's the first step?

Contact Senior Pastor Neeley Rentz Lane! She would love to discuss membership and answer any questions you might have! neeley@fpccov.org

We also offer a multi-week Presbyterianism 101 class about once a year. This is not required to join but might help give you an insight into what becoming Presbyterian means on a spiritual level and on a functional level!
